Opening Ceremony

Copy
Bridging the worlds of style, travel, and culture
In its heyday, Opening Ceremony was at the forefront of fashion and pop culture. As a member of the eCommerce team, I not only wrote collection copy for new pieces going online, I also interviewed designers, attended fashion shows, and reported on new trends within the city — from restaurants and shop openings to parties and people.

Unfortunately, most of my work disappeared into the ether when the website got a facelift, but I have some editorial graphics and article texts saved. If you'd like to read my samples, I'm happy to provide them.
I concepted an exclusive lookbook for the Opening Ceremony blog featuring designer Patrik Ervell’s SS14 collection. The collection featured a wave print, and I wanted to educate the customer on the importance of the print while featuring other garments. I interviewed the designer at his SoHo studio and worked with the design team to create slides that prominently featured the collection, the wave print, and quotes from the designer relevant to the pieces.

This is one example of the reviews I wrote for the NYFW shows I attended as a representative of Opening Ceremony. These were written immediately after the show and published the same day, once photos were ready for upload.
