Kohl's is an expansive, multi-brand retailer in the US. Their branding and voice was well-established, and already familiar to me as someone who grew up reading the Sunday circulars that came in the newspaper.

Joining their digital team was exciting, getting to explore the corporate side of e-Commerce after growing with the small, scrappy team that ran Opening Ceremony's online business. I helped out with a variety of their platforms, from social media to email to department pages (the landing pages for each department such as women's, men's, kids', etc.) As I came to know the design team better, we started collaborating on more creative ideas for holiday and brand spotlight emails. Below are two favorites.
Request was to introduce Nike reflective technology for women, men, and shoes. Collaborated with designer to make graphics that represented the shine of a runner’s reflective material when a car or other light source goes by. Copy speaks to the materials and running but could be for any sport.

Request was to make a Valentine’s Day-focused email that also spoke to the President’s Day sale over the weekend. The idea came to me to combine the two into one concept, and from a strange mid-meeting sketch came the beauty of Mount Rushmore with floating hearts, thanks to my design partner.
